In fact, Swiss-American’s technical expertise and customer centric approach was critical in creating the EltaMD franchise, which was acquired by Colgate-Palmolive in January 2018. The divestiture enabled the company to focus solely on core contract development and manufacturing.

In the 2018 beauty award season, Swiss-American yielded five award-winning product formulations for their personal care clients. These formulations were strengthened by product safety and clinical development recommendations from the highly knowledgeable Swiss- American staff, saving the client time and resources while reducing costs associated with securing approvals for product claims. Swiss-American’s strategic approach provided a competitive, sustainable advantage for a client who now refers to the company’s manufacturing and development as the industry standard for third-party manufacturers.
In another collaboration, a client needed a “spray version” of a product that would act as a film-forming agent on the skin with specific requirements for flexibility, longevity and patient comfort. Considering these prerequisites, Swiss-American’s research, innovation & development group created a polymer, using a readily available solvent for the spray version. The team then implemented the spray mechanism for the product and developed the packaging per client specifications. Currently, the product is available through healthcare facilities around the world.
These innovative strides and collaborations have propelled Swiss- American on a double-digit growth trajectory since 2012.
